Proud sponsors of the Cambridge University Women's Rugby Team
Why we sponsor the Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club (CURUFC) Women's Rugby Team.

Why we sponsor CURUFC.
In 1995 I was asked to help coach the women’s rugby team at my university, Royal Holloway.
Honestly, I thought it would be a bit of a laugh and I didn’t take the sport seriously. I quickly came to change my opinion and respected the girls who would join the club and develop lifelong friendships.
Very few of the girls had played rugby before arriving at university. Many had not enjoyed team sports because they were not the right shape, size or athletic ability.
Rugby gave them a home, an ability to excel given their own physical characteristics.
I witnessed shy girls become confident young women, due to being part of the club and playing rugby.
I hadn’t appreciated the foundations that my days at Plymouth Albion RFC would give me in moving from Plymouth to running my own successful consultancy in London and Cambridge. As a young boy, I didn’t know this was a big advantage giving me a leap ahead.
"We celebrate our differences."
The team building and leadership skills have stayed with me from those early teenage years playing at Beacon Park.
At Mulberry Risk we are building a high performance business, built on high performance teams, employing high performance individuals.
"I want to level the playing field."
I’m proud to work in the London Insurance Market. I see actuarial and data science being a rewarding career and wish to introduce as many people to it as possible.
That’s why we sponsor the Cambridge University Women’s Rugby Team.
The girls have worked hard to attend this great institution. The rugby team gives them confidence to become future leaders of industry, ambassadors to solve the big challenges that will be impacting our future generations.
"I want to level the playing field, and introduce the very best women to a successful career in insurance, actuarial and data science."
The young ladies are ambassadors for change and celebrating our differences. This isn’t about gender, sexual orientation or advantages. Our sponsorship is to provide a beacon for all who strive to make a better world can be inspired by.
